Here are some resources for you to help you keep faith alive in your home this summer.
Activities for Sundays and celebrating the Sabbath:

Breaking Open the Word/ June/July Cycle A – Use this resource to discuss the readings wiht your family.
Holy Heroes Sunday Mass prep with videos, crafts and coloring sheets.
Build-Your- Own Family Worship Service (Growing up Catholic Worship@Home Pastoral Center) This resource will help you hold your own Sunday worship service at home if you are unable to attend Mass. (Great if you are on vacation and can’t get to mass!)

World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly – Fourth Sunday of July
Note:
The U.S. bishops have approved the transfer of the celebration of World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly in the U.S. to the first weekend after Labor Day in September to coincide with National Grandparents (and the Elderly) Day in the United States as many local communities, schools, and parishes have celebrated for some time.

Pope Francis instituted a Church-wide celebration of a World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly in 2021. It is held on the fourth Sunday of July, close to the liturgical memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus.

Some other ideas for fun:
- Visit a shrine
- Plant a Mary Garden and talk about Creation
- Learn about the Saints and make a Saints book or posters or create skits
- Pass out bottles of ice-cold water at a local event or charity
- Make a meal for someone in your parish who is sick or just had a baby
- Invite friends over for a backyard barbeque and family rosary
- Go through your clothing and toys and share with a young family or donate to a local charity
- Stay up late and pray Night Prayer under the stars
- host a lemonade stand and donate the proceeds to church or a charity
- rest together
- plan one day a week for a field trip (to a Zoo, indoor play place)
- Have the kids keep a summer journal of things they are thankful for
